Majordomo, the shape shifting druid is the boss right after the gatekeeper,. Majordomo can take scorpion, cat or human form.
The raid controls which form the boss assumes. When the raid is stacked up, Majordomo goes scorpion when the raid is spread out Majordomo goes cat, every 3rd switch he will go into human form. The longer the druid stays in one form the more powerful his abilities get. The more the druid shifts forms the more powerful he becomes. It’s all about keeping him in a form for as long as possible before switching it.
We started with Majordomo in Scorpion. As a scorpion he does a split cone attack. This is his main ability as scorpion and perhaps the most dangerous ability of the encounter. Naturally you are stacked up to split the damage this is serious damage being dealt with each blow. You can see when his next blow will occur by watching his energy bar, when it reaches 100, he does the cone attack, Flame Scythe.
You will be able to take about 5-6 of these before you will need to switch form. Each time he does the cone attack he gains another stack of adrenaline. Each stack of adrenaline increases his energy regeneration rate. Basically he starts doing cone attack faster and faster and faster.
In cat form his ability is a jump that targets a ranged raid member and leaves a large fire zone. At the same time an add appears with each jump. While survivability is an issue in scorpion form, cat form is more about dps. You will eventually have adds spawning with such frequency that you won’t be able to put dps into the druid because you will be busy killing the adds. Around 6 stacks you should switch him again.
Melees should focus primarily on the adds as you can’t follow the boss jumping up and down. Ranged should be spread on the outer circle. When the 6th jump is done quickly run into the melees to have him switch.
This time he briefly goes into druid for 3 seconds while stunning the raid and placing fire bombs on your raid members. The debuff has a random duration for each member. When the time expires the bomb explodes dealing massive damage to allies.
So it’s scorpion phase, just like in the beginning only with bonus bombs this time. Raiders must keep an eye on their debuff, when it’s 5 seconds move out of the raid, explode, move back in. Don’t move out sooner then 5 seconds because you won’t be sharing the cone damage. Too many out of the raid at the same time and cone damage will kill the raid.
2nd cat comes with bonus Burning Orbs. Ranged deal with these like you did on gatekeeper with the shards, they do constant stacking dot damage. Take 5 stacks then let someone else take damage, then once the debuff runs out on you go ahead and take more stacks.
Key to success is proper use of raid wide defensive cooldowns. Make a list of ppl. having cooldowns, split it in two. 1st scorpion and 2nd scorpion. Then each member gets a cone attack number. His job is to help the raid survive that cone attack. For example let’s say paladin2 is assigned for the 5th cone. He watches debuff, on 4 adrenaline and 85 energy he uses Devine Guardian. The 1st two cones are not so dangerous, you can skip cooldowns for those and you can stack cooldowns for the last cones.
It’s 1st scorpion then cat then 2nd scorpion then cat then on the 3rd scorpion Ppl who used cooldowns on the 1st should have them regenerated and should use them again in the same order.
